Michael
Hungbo.
Software engineer, technical writer, and geneticist. I build software products and architect documentation for them.

Background
I started out as a geneticist, which taught me to care deeply about precision and clarity — skills that transferred almost perfectly into software development and technical writing.
Over the past five years I've built web applications with JavaScript, React, and Next.js, while simultaneously writing developer-facing content for companies like Cloudinary, Minexa.ai, CustomGPT.ai, and Proxycurl. The overlap between building and explaining is where I do my best work.
I'm currently co-lead at The Good Docs Project, where I help shape templates and standards for open-source documentation. I'm also exploring developer relations as a discipline — building bridges between products and the developers who use them.
